Redevelopment at The Godolphin Arms
Posted by: editor | December 10, 2012
A public consultation was recently held for a proposed redevlopement of The Godolphin Arms which will see St Aubyn Estates conmmitment to growing this already successful business at the heart of the local community of Marazion. The vision for the Godolphin Arms is to be a beach-side ten bedroom inn with a reputation for stylish comfort, quality fresh food, excellent customer service and an unrivalled location. Situated in one of Cornwall’s best locations in Marazion and offering stunning views of St Michael’s Mount and the surrounding bay, we want to be able to share its uniqueness with more customers that will also contribute to the prosperity of the town of Marazion and the wider community.
The proposed main changes of the development will take in a two storey glass extension that will extend the stunning views out to St Michael's Mount and Mounts Bay and will include doubling the size of the kitchen enabling a new menu of freshly cooked, quality food. For further information on the proposals and to view the plans in full, visit The Godolphin Arms website.

On Friday 29th June, the chapel of St Michael's Mount resounded with the beautiful voices of the Laudate Chamber Choir in a concert to raise funds for St Aubyn Estates nominated charity, Cornwall Air Ambulance.
With music by Bach, Handel, Stopford, Walmisley, Wood and S.S. Wesley, the programme also include excerpts from Haydn's Kleine Orgelmesse and atmospheric monastic-style Compline sung to Gregorian Chant.
Thank you to musical director Neil Shepherd, the thirty-six voice choir and to all our guests for attending this sell-out concert that raised over £1,100 pounds for Cornwall Air Ambulance and the vital transportation link it offers to Cornwall's residence.
Cornish Heritage Builders winners at 2012 Cornish Building Awards
Posted by: editor | May 14, 2012
Cornish Heritage Builders have recently been announced as one of three winners of the 2012 Cornish Building Awards. The Cornish Buildings Group founded its awards scheme 30 years ago to honour architects and builders who show great innovation and sensitivity in new designs or the conservation and restoration of the county's historic buildings.
As the standard of this year’s competition was extremely high, the judges selected three winners and Cornish Heritage Builders share the award for a refurbishment project at The Cottage, a 16th century house situated in the heart of Marazion, Cornwall. Our skilled building team removed all of the mid-20th Century additions and then undertook a restoration project using traditional materials and methods whilst incorporating current insulation processes. New plumbing, heating and electricity systems were also installed and this included an exterior air-source heat pump which now supplies all heating and hot water.
This is the second time that Cornish Heritage Builders have won this award after previously winning in 2001for a restoration project called The Canyack in Cot Valley, St Just.
Well done team for your continued standards of excellence and workmanship.
